## Description

Mantis Space develops energy transmission technology designed to support power delivery in orbit and the growth of the space economy. Its work combines optical assemblies, laser systems, and high-power components to transmit energy between spacecraft and satellites. The company describes its laser technology as precise and reliable, with the goal of helping satellite operators reduce downtime during eclipses and maintain continuous operations.

Mantis plans to place spacecraft in lower medium Earth orbit (MEO) and beam power thousands of kilometers to satellites’ solar arrays as they enter eclipse. This approach is intended to extend spacecraft operating life and improve efficiency across orbits. The company highlights potential applications in satellite operations, lunar missions, in-space manufacturing, defense, navigation, communications, and exploration.

Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with additional locations listed in Atlanta, Silicon Valley, and Washington, D.C., Mantis Space is building technology for a future space-based power grid. Its website also features company news, information about its leadership and engineering team, career opportunities, and ways to contact the organization.
