## Description

Ethiopian Enterprise Development (EED), established in 1942, plays a pivotal role in fostering the growth of manufacturing enterprises in Ethiopia, contributing significantly to the national economy. With a history of over 80 years, EED has been instrumental in expanding the manufacturing sector from traditional handicrafts to modern production technologies, thereby nurturing a new generation of national investors. The organization focuses on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through a variety of services, including capacity building, consultancy, and industry extension.

EED collaborates closely with regional and city governments to provide essential resources such as financial support, technological assistance, training programs, and market linkages. By facilitating investment promotion and developing infrastructure, EED enhances the competitiveness of SMEs. As of mid-2023, Ethiopia boasts over 12,751 SMEs, generating substantial exports and significantly contributing to income substitution in the economy. The mission of EED is to create a conducive environment for sustainable growth, ensuring fair wealth distribution while strengthening Ethiopia's manufacturing sector.
