## Description

MAPCO (Map and Plan Collection Online) is a digital resource dedicated to sharing high-resolution scans of rare and collectible antique maps and views. Its collection is intended for genealogists, students, historians, and anyone interested in historical cartography. Access to the scans is free, and the site is updated regularly as new material is added.

The collection focuses on 18th- and 19th-century maps and plans of London and the British Isles, alongside 19th-century maps and engravings relating to Australia. Featured works include detailed historical maps of London, geological maps of Britain, and plans showing proposed railway lines and urban improvements. MAPCO provides descriptive information about selected items, including their publishers, dates, scales, dimensions, and historical features, helping visitors explore their context and significance.

The website also connects visitors with Old Adelaide Photos, a separate resource offering searchable historical images of Adelaide and South Australia. These photographs are available for free personal study by students, amateur historians, and genealogists, complementing MAPCO’s online collection of Australian maps.
