## Description

MapLight Therapeutics is a neuroscience-focused biotechnology company working to develop targeted treatments for brain disorders. Its mission is to improve on current options, which the company says can provide limited efficacy and cause significant side effects. Rather than relying on generalized treatments, MapLight aims to identify and address specific neural circuits that misfire in different conditions.

The company’s discovery platform combines technologies including optogenetics, STARmap and transcriptomics to investigate brain circuits and guide the development of potential therapeutics. MapLight reports a pipeline spanning clinical and preclinical development. Its clinical-stage compounds are being developed for indications including schizophrenia, psychosis associated with Alzheimer’s disease and autism spectrum disorder. The preclinical pipeline includes potential treatments for Parkinson’s disease, hyperactivity and impulsivity.

Through its research platform and product pipeline, MapLight seeks to advance innovative therapies across multiple central nervous system conditions. The company also shares scientific publications, corporate announcements and investor information, and provides resources about its platform, pipeline and clinical development.
