## Description

MAPS (Movimento de Apoio à Problemática da Sida) is a community association serving the Algarve region of Portugal. For more than 30 years, it has worked to meet social and health needs through direct support, services and projects that promote human development and inclusion. Its areas of work include HIV/AIDS, homelessness, sexual health, migration, substance dependence and social emergencies.

MAPS provides free, confidential and anonymous rapid testing for HIV, hepatitis B and C, and syphilis, at its offices and through a mobile unit. Its services and social responses include emergency accommodation, temporary housing, psychosocial support, direct social assistance, a residence for people living with HIV/AIDS, food support and the distribution of condoms. The association also runs initiatives such as Testa-te! and Cuida-te II, alongside health campaigns and equality-focused activities.

Headquartered in Faro, MAPS has delegations in Portimão, Quarteira, Loulé, Tavira, Lagos and Vila Real de Santo António. Its mission is to provide community services across a range of needs and foster a more inclusive and equitable society.
