## Description

Mapterhorn is an innovative open-data project dedicated to providing extensive terrain tile coverage for various regions worldwide. It offers interactive web map visualizations that empower users to explore detailed geographical data with different resolutions, ranging from 0.25 m to 30 m. The platform supports a multitude of countries, including detailed tiles for Austria, Germany, France, and the USA, among others, ensuring comprehensive access to high-quality terrain information.

Users can access the Mapterhorn terrain tiles through its website at mapterhorn.com/viewer. The initiative has thrived with backing from the NGI0 Core Fund, supported by the European Commission's Next Generation Internet programme. Mapterhorn is managed by a dedicated team, including Oliver Wipfli, Brandon Liu, and Sascha Brawer, who oversee its development and administration. All resources and the project's source code are openly available under the BSD-3 license, promoting transparency and collaboration in environmental mapping and analysis.
