The Massachusetts Public Health Association (MPHA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a healthy Massachusetts. Through advocacy, community organizing, and coalition building, we strive to promote health equity by addressing the root causes of health and wellness. At MPHA, we believe that access to healthy food, safe affordable housing, and transportation are crucial drivers of health outcomes, which is why we work tirelessly to advocate for policies that support these aspects of public health.

With a strong commitment to dismantling structural racism and listening to the voices of those most affected by health inequities, MPHA aims to be a champion for public health in the Commonwealth. Our mission is to eliminate all forms of structural inequities that impact health, particularly focusing on dismantling structural racism. We recognize the intersectionality of oppression and discrimination, including classism, sexism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and xenophobia, and work towards addressing them all.

Through our Health Equity Policy Framework, we provide a guide for our board, Policy Council, staff, and partners to operationalize our mission and vision of achieving health equity in Massachusetts. Our advocacy model focuses on state and local policy change, driven by our core values of action, collaboration, commitment, equity and social justice, and truth.
