## Description

Maratona Alzheimer is an event and community initiative dedicated to raising awareness and support for people affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Based in Mercato Saraceno, in Italy’s Forlì-Cesena area, it brings together sport, social participation, and efforts to fund prevention, assistance, and research. Its marathon route crosses the hills and coastal landscapes of Romagna, with distances designed for people at different levels of fitness. The organizers promote physical activity not only as a way to support prevention, but also as a means of social integration.

The initiative extends beyond race day through activities and fundraising throughout the year. Its offerings include the marathon, a virtual marathon, the Fondo Alzheimer 360° and opportunities to participate as a supportive runner. Supporters can also donate, volunteer, or contribute through company partnerships. The organization highlights Alzheimer’s assistance, prevention, and research as central objectives, encouraging participants to help break the silence around the disease. Maratona Alzheimer presents its events as “a race beyond the race,” connecting athletic participation with solidarity and ongoing support for the Alzheimer’s community.
