## Description

Marine-Jugend Kiel is a sailing club based on Kiel Fjord, where young people and other members take part in sailing and boating activities. Its fleet includes the cutters “Fritjof,” “Aneesa” and “Pisagua,” as well as a motorized support boat and the yacht “Johanna.” The club organizes sailing outings, training and regattas, including events such as a nighttime lights cruise and the Nikolausregatta. Members prepare and maintain boats together, take part in competitions, and share practical sailing experiences with visiting crews from other Marine-Jugend clubs.

The club’s activities depend on access to local waterfront facilities. After safety inspections led to the closure of the jetties on Kiel’s west shore, the club adapted its operations, arranging to use sports-harbor berths and planning to crane boats at the quay. It also works with neighboring clubs and municipal departments on interim arrangements while longer-term solutions are considered. Through its sailing, events and shared boat work, Marine-Jugend Kiel offers members opportunities to develop seamanship and enjoy time on the water and in the club community.
