# marinesnz.com - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `marinesnz.com` ## Description MarinesNZ.com is the online history portal and visitor resource of the Kāpiti US Marines Trust, a New Zealand organisation preserving the story of U.S. Marines and other armed forces on the Kāpiti Coast during World War II. Its focus is the Marines’ stay in the region from 1942 to 1944 and the lasting friendships formed between American service members and local communities. The website brings together historical articles, photographs, film, personal memories and archival collections, including the Norm Hatch Collection and a rare field notebook. Visitors can explore the former camp sites at Paekākāriki, Porirua and elsewhere, learn about camp life, training and naval exercises, and discover accounts of events such as the Guadalcanal Campaign and the Battle of Tarawa. The site also documents a restored Marines’ hut, memorials and a museum exhibition, including a memorial to ten sailors who drowned off the coast. MarinesNZ.com helps visitors plan walking, cycling, car or train trips to heritage sites, and provides guided tours, events, videos and genealogy resources for finding a Marine or sailor. It also invites people to share stories, photographs and information about historic huts, and offers ways to donate or volunteer. ## Industries - 🧪 Science and Education - 🧪 History _(under Science and Education)_ - 🧪 Libraries and Museums _(under Science and Education)_ - ✈️ Travel and Tourism - ✈️ Tourist Attractions _(under Travel and Tourism)_ ## Links - [facebook](https://facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064445389336) ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idNmThQtHN/w/420/h/92/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1793692811845) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Bay of Many | #243978 | accent | | Woodland | #4c5727 | dark | | Raffia | #e8d0b6 | light | ## Fonts - Open Sans — asset _(google)_ - Helvetica Neue — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
