## Description

Markee is a community-owned digital advertising network designed to help fund the open internet. It connects advertisers with audiences across a global network of websites and open-source projects, allowing users to buy a message, choose where it appears, and see it live instantly. The Markee Marketplace lets buyers explore available placements and view details such as a placement’s current message, views, price to change, and funds raised.

Website owners and open-source project maintainers can create a Markee in a few steps and earn from messages displayed on their properties. Supported placements include websites, GitHub repository content such as READMEs and documentation, and Superfluid projects, which can earn SUP incentives. Markee also offers an ownership model based on the Ethereum network: the cooperative says it is owned by MARKEE holders, with governance and ownership enforced onchain through RevNets and Gardens. Buyers can connect a wallet and pay in ETH to acquire MARKEE tokens and add a message. Overall, Markee combines digital advertising, creator funding, and community governance in a shared network.
