It all began when Tim, his partner, requested him to teach a song - Early Morning Rain - originally by Gordon Lightfoot but popularized during a BBC radio show hosted by Mark Lamarr. Listening to the track rejuvenated Barry's love for music, particularly the power that a single guitar and voice can conjure. However, Martell & Moray's journey isn't complete without a nod to their shared history with renowned artists.
Barry's youthful obsession with The Jam led to an opportunity where his band, Jump In Your Datsun, supported them during the Brighton leg of the Trans Global Express Tour. Over the years, Barry's photography skills captured unforgettable moments, including his image of The Jam in Paris, chosen for the cover of the book Thick As Thieves: Personal Situations With The Jam.
