## Description

Martial Arts Institute, Socorro (MAIS) is a martial arts school established in 2022 in Socorro, New Mexico. It offers day and evening classes in Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido self-defense, and Tai Chi Chuan, welcoming beginners and experienced students from age four through adulthood and seniors. The programs combine physical training with opportunities to develop confidence, discipline, skill, and personal growth.

Tae Kwon Do classes are designed for ages 4–12 and focus on dynamic kicks, punches, forms, combinations, sparring, and progress through belt ranks. Hapkido, for ages 12 and older, teaches self-defense techniques including strikes, kicks, throws, and joint locks, with an emphasis on conditioning and agility. Tai Chi Chuan, offered to students aged seven and up in morning classes, combines flowing movement with strengthening, relaxation, and self-defense.

MAIS also provides customized private instruction. The school states that it is accredited through the Amateur Athletic Union, Kukkiwon Moo Duk Kwan Taekwondo, and World Hapkido Chun Ki Do Associations for black belt certifications.
