## Description

Mary McLaughlin is an Irish singer, songwriter and teacher whose work is rooted in the Ulster Gaelic song tradition of her native Ireland, where she was born and raised. She records and performs traditional Irish music and shares its vocal techniques, language and cultural context through workshops, classes and individual lessons. Her teaching is available online to students in several countries, as well as through Celtic and Irish camps across the UK, Ireland and North America, where she has toured extensively.

McLaughlin has released five CDs to international acclaim, written two songbooks and completed a PhD in Irish Otherworld Song. Her specialist interests include the keen, Gaelic Christmas songs and fairy song. Alongside practical singing instruction, she explores the landscapes, history and traditions that shaped the music, helping students connect with the stories behind each song. Her offerings include recorded music, publications, live performances and online learning in Irish singing and technique, with a particular focus on preserving and sharing Gaelic song in the Ulster tradition.
