MassServiceAlliance (MSA) is a private, nonprofit organization established in 1991, dedicated to expanding volunteerism and service in Massachusetts. As the official State Service Commission, MSA provides funding, training, and support to individuals and organizations, empowering them to tackle pressing issues and strengthen communities. With a focus on three key initiatives, namely AmeriCorps, Commonwealth Corps, and Volunteerism Initiatives, MSA plays a vital role in supporting not-for-profit organizations throughout the state.

Through AmeriCorps, over 1,800 members annually serve 400 Massachusetts organizations, while Commonwealth Corps connects dozens of members with over a dozen not-for-profit organizations. MSA also provides resources and funding for volunteer generation and management. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, MSA leverages significant state and federal funding to support more than 500 Massachusetts organizations every year.
