## Description

The Center for the Advancement of Therapeutic Arts (CATA NYC) is a New York City facility and professional community dedicated to therapeutic bodywork. It supports massage therapists and bodyworkers through continuing education, networking, specialized training, clinic services, and space rentals. CATA offers classes, workshops, and events designed to help practitioners deepen their knowledge, explore techniques, and develop their practices. Its educational programs include Thai massage, oncology massage, and graduate studies. The comprehensive Oncology Massage Training program teaches specialized techniques, safety considerations, and compassionate approaches for supporting clients throughout cancer treatment. CATA also operates an oncology massage clinic, where clients at any stage of cancer treatment can receive tailored massage therapy from certified therapists as a complement to pain management. In addition, the facility provides rental space for practitioners and connects clients with a diverse team of qualified professionals who run private practices there. Founded by Michael Alicia, CATA describes itself as a nurturing refuge where bodywork professionals can share expertise, collaborate, and provide quality therapeutic work.
