## Description

The Master Gardener Foundation of Washington State is dedicated to enhancing the effectiveness and outreach of the WSU Extension Master Gardener Program. Established in 1973, this vibrant foundation connects over 4,000 volunteers who provide essential gardening education and community service across Washington State. Their initiatives include hosting educational events, workshops, and plant sales that raise funds to support sustainable gardening, youth programs, and local food banks. The foundation also sponsors the annual Advanced Education Conference and offers prestigious awards to recognize exceptional contributions to the Master Gardener Program. Additionally, they produce the Evergreen Thumb Podcast, featuring expert horticulturists sharing valuable gardening insights. By partnering with Washington State University, the foundation is actively working to establish the first endowed faculty chair dedicated to furthering Master Gardener education. Through volunteer engagement and community involvement, the Master Gardener Foundation strives to promote healthy gardens and communities, making a lasting impact throughout the region.
