## Description

Matagalls-Montserrat is a long-distance hiking challenge organised by Club Excursionista de Gràcia. Held since 1972 in memory of Mossèn Jaume Oliveras i Brossa, the event invites participants to travel on foot from Matagalls in the Montseny to Montserrat. Its stated objective is to cover 84.3 kilometres in under 24 hours. The 2026 edition is scheduled for 19–20 September, with an important route modification announced because of force majeure.

The event’s website provides practical information for participants, including the 2026 calendar, registration, regulations, frequently asked questions, route updates, photographs and news from earlier editions. It also offers preparation advice, including medical guidance from sports physician and volunteer Neus Vives, and weather forecasts through Meteomuntanya. Participants can join the Mm mailing-list community to receive news and updates. Additional event services and activities include free coaches from the finish point to Terrassa and a video contest. The organisation also shares information about its institutional supporters, sponsors, collaborators and charitable partnerships.
