## Description

MatchStar Venture Search is a boutique executive recruiting firm serving high-growth technology companies. It offers an alternative to traditional fully retained search, addressing common concerns such as high fees, large deposits, limited candidate flow, and lengthy timelines. The firm uses value-based pricing, performance guarantees, and flexible arrangements that let clients pursue candidates through other channels at the same time.

MatchStar’s recruiting process combines targeted direct research with its “iterative profiling” methodology to identify and assess candidates. Over the past decade, this approach has supported hundreds of placements in high-impact C-suite, vice president, and director-level roles. The firm also draws on the MatchStar Venture Network, a referral community of more than 60,000 technology executives who receive updates about selected positions and clients.

With a three-partner structure, MatchStar emphasizes performance, competitive pricing, and flexibility for early-stage companies. The firm is based in San Francisco, California, and also lists Washington, DC, as a location.
