# Matika s Chrobákem

## Description

Matika s Chrobákem is an educational project focused on helping students understand mathematics and prepare confidently for entrance examinations to Czech secondary schools. Its guiding approach is to teach students to think rather than rely on rote memorization, while building confidence and reducing stress around learning. The founder has more than 20 years of teaching experience across different types of schools and works in mathematics education at the University of Ostrava. He also lectures, mentors teachers, and develops learning materials and online courses. In 2019, he received the Global Teacher Prize Czech Republic, and in 2020 was named among the world’s 50 most inspiring teachers.

The project offers structured entrance-exam preparation for students in grades 5, 7, 8, and 9, covering typical problems, word problems, logical reasoning, and working with exam stress. Czech-language exam preparation is provided in collaboration with an experienced colleague. For home practice, students can use EDUTEN, a game-based mathematics program. Lessons are available in person in Frýdek-Místek and online.
