The martial art was founded in 1947 by O’Sensei Shoshin Nagamine, who established the association to safeguard its teachings and legacy. Today, the WMKA has dojos in Okinawa and mainland Japan, as well as countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Following the passing of Soke Takayoshi Nagamine, the association’s board elected Yoshitaka Taira, Hanshi, 10th Dan, as its president. The WMKA supports practitioners and member dojos through its international network, leadership, and events, including seminars. People interested in joining can find information about the membership process through the association. The website also offers resources for learning about the art, including material on Matsubayashi-Ryu kata and kobudo, books, and historical information about the style, its founder, and his teachers. News and remembrances share updates and honor figures who have helped shape the association and its tradition. ## Industries - 🏈 Sports - 🏈 Martial Arts _(under Sports)_ ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idAcEvFHGA/w/1120/h/220/theme/light/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1791772557153) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Antique Brass | #c3906f | accent | | Rusty Nail | #90560a | dark | | Cherokee | #fdd79a | light | ## Fonts - Helvetica Neue — asset _(custom)_ - Arial — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
