## Description

Mattila Ranch is a small, peaceful horse farm in Kuhmo, Finland, offering a relaxed setting away from the bustle of town. Its American Quarter Horses are trained in western riding and cared for with an emphasis on calm, safe, and respectful interaction. The ranch aims to help riders build a genuine connection with horses, without rushing or performance pressure.

Services include western riding lessons, groundwork sessions, relaxed trail rides, and social pedagogical horse activities. Riding lessons are currently offered only as private sessions while the horses adjust to changes in the herd. The small-scale approach gives each participant individual attention and time to become comfortable with the horses. Beginner lessons are available, and the activities welcome adults and young people aged 12 and over; the stated maximum rider weight is 95 kg.

Sari Mustonen, an SRL-approved horse hobby instructor, normally leads lessons and can also offer groundwork and riding-position instruction. Visiting western riding coaches occasionally provide training.
