Maui Huliau Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2010 with a mission to promote environmental literacy and leadership among Maui's youth. Led by a dedicated team, including Executive Director & Founder Malia Cahill, Program Director Lily Solano, Program Assistant Kapono Naeʻole, and Program Assistant Macie Tawata, Maui Huliau offers a range of educational programs and initiatives. Through community-based experiences, they provide unique opportunities for young people to understand and engage with their environment.
Their programs include summer programs, internships, filmmaking club, leadership council, climate literacy initiatives, and more. They also offer resources focused on ʻāina-based initiatives, zero waste, and green events. Maui Huliau is committed to creating a sustainable Maui by inspiring active, educated, and innovative stewardship.
They are supported by the Huliau Alumni Council, a group of former Huliau students who provide guidance, volunteer, fundraise, and serve as a resource. With a dedicated staff, passionate alumni, and a clear vision, Maui Huliau is playing a vital role in shaping the future of Maui's environment and creating a new generation of environmental leaders
