## Description

MausBot is a free, open-source desktop app for building and coordinating a team of AI bots in a chat-style interface. Available for Mac, Windows, and Linux, it lets users create bots for tasks such as research, writing, planning, coding, and follow-up. Each bot can have its own role, AI provider, and model, while multiple bots can work in parallel on the user’s computer. MausBot connects to supported agent engines, including Claude Code and Codex, using the user’s existing logins or subscriptions; users can also provide API keys. Provider fees and usage limits apply separately.

The app supports routines and scheduled tasks, voice conversations, and connections to services such as Gmail, Slack, GitHub, Notion, and Linear through Composio. Users can install ready-made bot teams from BotMRR or build workflows that pass work between bots, such as researching, drafting, and reviewing. MausBot emphasizes local-first operation: transcripts, keys, and events are stored on the user’s device by default. Phone apps are available as companions, though setup begins on a computer.
