## Description

Wisconsin Works (W-2) is an employment and training program that helps eligible Wisconsin residents, particularly low-income parents, prepare for stable work and support their families. In Milwaukee County’s Region 2, the program is operated by Maximus. W-2 combines personalized case management and coaching with practical support to address barriers such as limited job skills, education, childcare, or transportation. Its services include career assessments and counseling, job-search assistance, local job leads, job fairs, resume development, and access to the MPloy online job-search platform. Participants can also pursue educational and vocational training, certified programs, job-skills classes, GED or HSED preparation, and TABE testing. To support employment and career growth, W-2 offers job-retention services, advancement-skills training, public transportation assistance, childcare referrals, work-attire vouchers, job access loans, energy assistance, and refugee services. The program’s goal is to help participants find and keep employment, advance their careers, and contribute to their communities.
