## Description

Peter Maybarduk is an advocate and composer whose work brings together public-interest health advocacy, writing, and music. He directs Public Citizen’s access to medicines group, which works to improve medicine affordability, address patent barriers, share science and technology, and advance health and justice in the United States and internationally. The group also supports pandemic preparedness and response and works with countries and partners on global health policy. Maybarduk’s writing and public commentary cover access to medicines, foreign aid, trade, and government transparency, including efforts to obtain information about international health agreements.

As a composer and musician, Maybarduk creates songs and recordings that explore family, community, resilience, social change, and personal purpose. His music includes solo releases such as Pacifica, A Ring Around the Atlantic, and No Hay Pueblo Vencido, as well as work with the Washington, D.C. indie group Notaries Public. His projects feature acoustic arrangements and instruments including guitar, bass, percussion, piano, and cello.
