Maywood Fine Arts is a renowned brand and a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality arts instruction to the children of Maywood and the surrounding communities. Since its establishment in 1979 by Ernie and Lois Baumann, Maywood Fine Arts has been committed to enriching and transforming the lives of children and their families through affordable and quality arts and fitness education. They offer a wide range of classes and programs, including dance, tumbling, karate, drama, visual art, and music.

Through these activities, children not only learn artistic and physical skills but also develop self-discipline, teamwork, and respect for others. Maywood Fine Arts also serves as a resource for the community, combating issues like drug activity, gang involvement, and teenage pregnancy by providing healthy after-school and weekend activities. In addition to their regular classes, Maywood Fine Arts offers several outreach programs that enhance children's health and well-being.

These programs include Books Alive, which brings children's literature to life through music and dance, the unique youth leadership training and employment program Get Off the Street & On Your Feet (GOTS), Classical Ballet for New Audiences, and Fit and Fun Healthy Families. Every year, over 750 individual children are enrolled in multiple arts and fitness classes. Maywood Fine Arts relies on grants and donations as 60% of their expenses are not covered by tuition.
