Mazamas1894: For the Love of Mountains Founded in 1894 on the majestic summit of Mt. Hood, Mazamas1894 is a renowned 501(c)(3) nonprofit mountaineering education organization based in Portland, Oregon. We inspire everyone to love and protect the mountains through our wide range of products and services.

With over 250 hikes and 180 climbs offered annually, Mazamas1894 caters to individuals of all skill and fitness levels. We provide a variety of classes and activities, including the Basic Climbing Education Program (BCEP), wilderness first aid courses, and more. Our mission is to promote climbing, responsible recreation, and conservation values through outdoor education, advocacy, and outreach.

As a member, you'll have access to our numerous climbs, hikes, and classes. We welcome individuals of all ages, with membership available to anyone from 4 to 104. Our Mazama Mountaineering Center is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including meeting rooms, an auditorium, a library, and a museum/archives.
