# Bgn RI - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `mbgsumsel.com` ## Description Program Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) Sumatera Selatan is a regional initiative managed by Indonesia’s National Nutrition Agency (Badan Gizi Nasional, or BGN). It aims to help meet the nutritional needs of schoolchildren, children under five, and pregnant and breastfeeding women through free nutritious meals delivered via local MBG kitchens, known as SPPG. The program includes students from early childhood through secondary education, as well as students at Islamic boarding schools, with targeted nutrition support for young children and mothers. MBG Sumatera Selatan also provides information about the program, including guidance, infographics, frequently asked questions and a map of SPPG locations. Its stated goals include improving nutritional status, supporting lower rates of illness and mortality among mothers and children, and helping students participate in education. The initiative is part of a wider national effort to develop a healthier, more capable population.
