## Description

M.C. Records is a renowned brand in the world of American Roots Music, specializing in producing and distributing exceptional blues and folk music. Founded in 1991 by Mark Carpentieri, M.C. Records began as a humble venture to record his band Somethin’ Blue. Carpentieri's resourcefulness led him to strike a unique deal with a studio owner, where he exchanged a van full of construction garbage for a night's worth of recording. This innovative exchange marked the birth of M.C. Records. Through the years, M.C. Records has amplified the voices of talented artists like Mississippi bluesman Big Jack Johnson, gaining industry recognition with eight Grammy Award nominations and over 30 Blues Music Award nominations or victories. In 2006, the label was honored with The Blues Foundation's prestigious Keeping The Blues Alive Award. With a commitment to preserving the rich heritage of American Roots Music, M.C. Records continues to captivate audiences worldwide with their soul-stirring music. Explore their diverse catalog and delve into the authentic sounds that have been captivating hearts for over three decades.
