## Description

McGowan Hall is a historic community and event venue in Indianapolis’s Old Northside. Built in 1922 by the Knights of Columbus’ Mater Dei Council 437, it has served as a neighborhood gathering place for more than a century. The hall offers three distinct rental spaces for weddings, quinceañeras, showers, meetings, company events, celebrations and performances. The Grand Hall accommodates up to 400 seated guests and features original maple floors, a stage, two bars and 5,000 square feet of space. The Council Room holds up to 100 guests, while the downstairs Bar Lounge seats 50 and hosts a regular jazz jam. All three rooms together can accommodate up to 550 people. Published rental rates start at $450 for the Bar Lounge, with tables and chairs included in the listed room offerings. Clients may bring any caterer, and there is no food or beverage minimum; alcohol service is provided through the venue’s bar. McGowan Hall also offers tours and event-planning information, including details about room rates, access, parking, decorations and deposits.
