About

Description

The Massachusetts Center for Native American Awareness (MCNAA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1989 by Burne Stanley-Peters and John Slow Turtle Peters. Committed to preserving Native American cultural traditions, MCNAA also aims to address the needs of Native American communities in the Commonwealth. Recognizing a lack of understanding about Native American issues, MCNAA works towards dispelling inaccurate information and promoting racial equality.

MCNAA offers various programs and services to fulfill its mission. The Traditional Arts Program provides opportunities for cultural expression through events that showcase Native artisans, craft makers, dancers, singers, and storytellers. The Public Education-Social Change Program hosts educational workshops, lectures, and panel discussions to increase awareness and knowledge about Native American history and traditions.

The Social Assistance Program assists low-income Native American elders and families with essential needs. The Scholarship & Educational Resources Program supports Native American students with funds for college-related expenses and mentorship. The Slow Turtle Youth Cultural Enrichment Program offers cultural activities and projects for children and youth.

Join MCNAA in their efforts to promote and preserve Native American heritage by participating in their events and supporting their cause. Contact them via phone, text, or email or visit their Danvers, MA office. Stay connected with MCNAA through their social media platforms.

Together, let's work towards a more inclusive and informed society
