## Description

Merlin Developments (Burton) Ltd., trading as MDR Engines, is a specialist engine-building company established in 1988 by Bruce Stevens. Drawing on decades of motorsport experience, Stevens had worked at Aston Martin and Cosworth, contributing to the development and construction of engines including the FVA, FVC, BDA and BDG. He also built the first Cosworth DFV, which powered Jim Clark to victory at the 1967 Dutch Grand Prix. After working with Swindon Engines and Alan Smith Racing, Stevens founded Merlin Developments to build and develop high-specification racing engines. The company went on to develop the Ford FBE V6 for Cosworth for the Prosport 3000 class. In 2008, Stevens sold the business to engine builder Robert Whelan, while continuing to pass on his experience. MDR Engines offers engines from several manufacturers and families, including Cosworth, Ford, Peugeot and Ferrari, with examples such as the DFV, BDD, Duratec, Zetec and MI16. Its website also features facilities, engines for sale, news, video and payment information.
