## Description

The Measles & Rubella Partnership (M&RP) is a global initiative aimed at eliminating measles and rubella, spearheaded by the American Red Cross and supported by notable organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, UNICEF, WHO, and Gavi. Established to coordinate efforts across countries, M&RP focuses on increasing vaccination coverage and bolstering the immunization delivery system. Since its inception in 2001, M&RP has facilitated the delivery of over 3.86 billion doses of measles vaccine, achieving an impressive global vaccination coverage rate of 83%, while reducing measles-related fatalities by 82%.

M&RP’s diverse activities include funding and monitoring supplementary vaccination campaigns, providing technical assistance, investigating outbreaks, and maintaining a global laboratory network for measles and rubella. In 2022 alone, the partnership successfully supported campaigns in 44 countries, reaching over 115 million children. The initiative has made significant investments totaling more than $1.2 billion towards controlling measles and rubella, solidifying its commitment to a healthier, measles-free world.
