## Description

The Medieval Dress and Textile Society (MEDATS) is dedicated to fostering education and enhancing public knowledge about the rich history of medieval dress and textiles. Serving as a global forum, MEDATS connects individuals from diverse disciplines—ranging from scholars and archaeologists to theatrical designers and reenactors—who share a passion for the textile arts from the end of the Roman Empire through the Early Modern Period. The society hosts a variety of engaging events each year, including conferences, workshops, and study days, where both members and non-members can share research, showcase practical demonstrations, and participate in enlightening discussions. Upcoming events such as "Volga to Vinland: Early Medieval Dress and Textiles" highlight the society's commitment to exploring historical themes in depth. MEDATS also offers membership benefits, including access to newsletters, discounted event registrations, and voting rights within the organization. This vibrant community encourages collaboration and the exchange of ideas among those intrigued by medieval textiles and dress history.
