## Description

The International Medical Geology Association (IMGA) is an affiliated organization of the International Union of Geological Sciences that connects specialists working at the intersection of Earth science and public health. Its international network brings together geologists, earth and environmental scientists, toxicologists, epidemiologists, and medical professionals to examine how geological processes and materials affect human populations.

Medical geology is a multidisciplinary field focused on links between the Earth’s chemical, biological, and physical environments and health conditions. IMGA provides a forum for sharing expertise, characterizing geological agents and processes, and considering how geological materials disperse and influence people.

The association supports its community through membership, international and regional chapters, and working groups focused on topics including One Health, potentially toxic elements and health, geo-environment and new contaminants, and early-career researchers. Members can access resources such as publications, videos, webinars, news, and events. IMGA also shares updates on research-related meetings, academic symposia, and initiatives across its network.
