## Description

MedWatch is a German nonprofit health journalism organization focused on evidence-based reporting and consumer protection. Its team monitors the internet for dangerous or misleading health claims, with particular attention to online spaces where purported healers promote unproven cures. Through investigations and explanatory articles, MedWatch examines questionable medical promises and helps readers understand their potential risks.

The publication covers a wide range of health topics, including alternative medicine, medicines and drug safety, nutrition, diseases, health policy, and misinformation. Its reporting has addressed issues such as risky supplements, unregulated online medicine sales, unsupported treatment claims, and misleading health advertising. MedWatch also provides practical resources for patients, a glossary, topic dossiers, and health information for people displaced from Ukraine. Readers can explore its latest investigations, browse its archive, and subscribe to a newsletter for updates. The organization invites public support to help it work independently and sustainably. MedWatch’s site also features Evi, a chatbot designed to address misleading claims about health effects.
