## Description

Flugplatz Meiersberg is the home of Sportflug Niederberg e.V., a community aviation club based in Heiligenhaus, near Düsseldorf. With more than 150 members, the club brings people together to enjoy air sports through shared participation and volunteer involvement. Its activities span gliding, powered flight and model aviation, supported by a fleet of motor and sailplanes and facilities at the Meiersberg airfield.

Gliding offers members the chance to travel using natural air currents, while motor flying ranges from local sightseeing trips to longer journeys, including destinations elsewhere in Europe. The club also welcomes interested visitors for passenger and sightseeing flights. Volunteer instructors provide training in gliding and motor flying; the club states that instruction itself carries no additional charge, although motor-flight training is subject to aircraft-use fees.

Model aviation is another part of the club, with members building and refining aircraft and exploring disciplines from aerobatics and gliders to jets. When full-size aircraft are not flying, the airfield is available to model flyers.
