## Description

Meiji Jingu is a Shinto shrine in Yoyogi, Shibuya, Tokyo, established on November 1, 1920. It enshrines Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken and welcomes visitors for worship, prayer, and seasonal events. The shrine’s grounds, known as the Yoyogi forest, offer places to explore and learn about the site’s features and traditions. Visitors can consult information on access, annual ceremonies, events, and the grounds’ opening hours, which change with sunrise and sunset.

Meiji Jingu also offers its distinctive Omigokoro fortune, a collection of 30 selections from poems by Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, accompanied by explanations. Rather than predicting good or bad luck, these verses provide guidance and reflection. The organization’s associated facilities and activities include the Meiji Jingu Museum, the International Shinto Culture Research Institute, the Shiseikan martial arts training hall, and the Meiji Jingu Supporters’ Association. Its related sites and venues include Meiji Kinenkan, Meiji Jingu Gaien, and Forest Terrace. The shrine also shares publications, visitor resources, and updates on ceremonies, exhibitions, and community initiatives.
