## Description

MeJäljestäjät ry is a small, active association founded in Orimattila in spring 2011. It introduces dog-and-handler teams to MEJÄ, a tracking test for hunting dogs, and supports those interested in developing their skills in blood tracking. The association runs modest-scale training sessions, practice opportunities, and MEJÄ tests in the Orimattila area. It also organizes dog-related lectures, courses, and events, creating opportunities for owners to learn and take part in activities with their dogs.

The organization’s work centers on the partnership between dog and handler and the challenge of following a blood trail through natural terrain. Its website shares information about the association, MEJÄ tests and events, and a gallery of champion dogs. MeJäljestäjät welcomes newcomers to explore the sport, while acknowledging that tracking can involve demanding conditions such as difficult terrain, insects, heat, rain, and fatigue. For participants, the reward is seeing a dog lead the way to the trail’s endpoint and experiencing the outdoors together.
