## Description

Memanto is an open-source companion memory agent designed to help AI agents retain and use information across sessions. It stores, organizes, and retrieves long-term context, so assistants can resume work with relevant decisions, preferences, and project details instead of starting from scratch. Memanto works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and many other AI agents, as well as frameworks and platforms including LangChain, Google ADK, and CrewAI.

The product includes a command-line interface for creating agent namespaces, saving and recalling memories, connecting integrations, and running retrieval-augmented generation. A local web dashboard provides an interactive way to manage the memory system, while REST and MCP interfaces support agent connections. Memanto offers semantic search, automatic categorization, freshness prioritization, source tracking, conflict resolution, and responses grounded in stored memories. Users can choose an on-premises setup that runs on their machine with Docker and local Ollama models, or a cloud backend that requires an API key. Memories can be inspected, exported, and migrated between semantic storage and human-readable Markdown.
