## Description

Memory of Nations is a historical archive documenting the experiences of people who lived through major events of the 20th century, especially in former Czechoslovakia and elsewhere in Europe and the world. Created in connection with Post Bellum, the project preserves thousands of personal testimonies through audio and video interviews, supported by photographs, documents and other materials. Its collection offers a way to explore modern history through the recollections of those who experienced it firsthand.

Visitors can search for individual witnesses by name or browse accounts connected to historical periods, places, topics and events. The archive also offers an AI assistant that searches interview transcripts drawn from more than 30,000 hours of recordings, helping users discover relevant memories by asking questions in their own words. For researchers, an online research service provides access to the archive. Memory of Nations presents these resources as a public platform for discovering personal stories and engaging with the history they illuminate.
