## Description

MenCare is a global campaign dedicated to transforming men’s roles as fathers and caregivers, promoting gender equality through active involvement in caregiving. Established in 2011, the initiative emphasizes that while men increasingly participate in domestic duties, women still bear the majority of caregiving responsibilities. MenCare advocates for equitable sharing of child care and domestic work, fostering healthier relationships, reducing violence, and improving overall well-being for families and communities.

MenCare’s impactful programming includes community-driven interventions, research initiatives, and targeted advocacy, collaborating with partners in over 65 countries. By engaging men to take an active role in caregiving, MenCare aims to break down rigid gender norms and highlight the importance of supportive structures that value men’s contributions in family life. The campaign is co-coordinated by Equimundo and Sonke Gender Justice and is supported by a diverse network of organizations worldwide. MenCare continues to lead the charge for care equality, ensuring that the next generation of boys grows up witnessing positive male engagement in caregiving.
