## Description

Mend and Bend is a Denver-based business owned by Sara Mahowald, offering mindful textile mending and yoga for people with scoliosis and other body asymmetries. Its services bring together practical repair skills and supportive movement practices, with the aim of helping people learn skills they can use in everyday life.

Through local mending classes and events in the Denver area, Sara teaches participants how to repair favorite garments by hand. Private mending classes are also available locally or virtually, providing a more individualized way to learn clothing repair.

Mend and Bend offers group yoga classes for people with and without scoliosis, both in person and online. The classes focus on movement that can help ease the body and mind, with attention to individual needs. Private yoga sessions introduce foundational poses and alignment, and help participants explore how to work with scoliosis before joining public classes. The practice is described by students as attentive, gentle, and welcoming. Together, the mending and yoga offerings support learning, mindful care, and community.
