## Description

The Danish Institute for Human Rights is Denmark’s national human rights institution, working to promote and protect human rights in Denmark and internationally. Its work combines independent research, legal analysis, public engagement and practical guidance to improve understanding of rights and how they are upheld. The institute examines a wide range of topics, including equality and discrimination, children’s rights, migration, privacy, policing, technology, business responsibility and freedom of expression. It also follows developments in Danish law and policy, submits consultation responses and highlights potential human rights concerns in proposed legislation.

The institute provides knowledge and resources through research projects, publications, expert commentary, events and educational initiatives, including programmes designed to help school students understand and defend their rights. Its library offers catalogues, databases, journals and services for researchers and the public. The institute also works with international human rights systems and collaborates with partners, including in Greenland, to strengthen rights protection and public awareness. Through its research, advice and outreach, it supports informed debate and accountability on human rights issues.
