Mercy Education Project (MEP) is a brand dedicated to empowering and celebrating women and girls in Detroit. Since its establishment in 1992 by the Sisters of Mercy of Detroit, MEP has been committed to providing educational equity, economic stability, and cultural enrichment opportunities to women and girls who have limited access to resources. Initially starting as a tutoring program for economically disadvantaged girls in southwest Detroit, MEP has now expanded its scope to offer a wide range of programs.

These programs include tutoring, GED classes, adult basic education, adult literacy, job training, computer literacy instruction, ACT/SAT preparation, and digital literacy education. MEP is passionate about helping women and girls in Detroit obtain a brighter future. By fostering a college and career knowing culture, providing leadership and personal development opportunities, and addressing the digital divide, MEP supports hundreds of girls and women each year in achieving educational success and personal greatness.
