Mercy Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating child trafficking and providing hope and freedom to children and families in Ghana. Our journey began in 2009 when our founder, Chris Field, encountered a young boy named Tomas who had been trafficked to work in the fishing industry on Lake Volta. This encounter ignited a passion to make a difference and led to the birth of Mercy Project.

Inspired by the verse in Micah 6:8, act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God, we have since worked relentlessly to build a sustainable process that empowers us to rescue and rehabilitate as many children as possible. Our milestones along the way have included important achievements such as gaining official nonprofit status, forming partnerships with villages, launching aquaculture cages, and successfully rescuing over 150 children to date. Our work is made possible through the generous contributions of individuals like you.
