## Description

MERL is a Latin American network supporting women in the renewable energy industry. Created by MERM, a group of women with expertise across different disciplines, the organization works to raise awareness among businesses and society about women’s roles in senior management and leadership. Its mission is to advance social, educational, and professional initiatives for women in renewable energy and foster a more inclusive community.

Through membership, MERL connects women across geographic and cultural boundaries, helping them build professional networks and share knowledge and opportunities. Its offerings include training programs, courses, workshops, events, and access to a job board. The network also promotes collaboration, skills development, innovation, employment, and social inclusion, while encouraging women to lead economic and community-focused initiatives.

MERL frames investment in women and girls as essential to a fairer, greener, and more resilient transition. Its work supports renewable energy development and aligns with goals including the Paris Agreement, the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles, and the UN Global Compact.
