## Description

Mert Lawwill’s official website, maintained by Joe Lawwill, celebrates the life and work of the American motorcycle racer, designer, and innovator. A leading competitor in the 1960s and 1970s, Mert won the 1969 AMA Grand National Championship and later became known for building motorcycle frames and designing mountain bikes, including an early bicycle suspension system. He also developed prosthetic devices to help people who have lost an arm or hand ride motorcycles and bicycles. His achievements were recognized with induction into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame in 1997 and the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1998.

The site shares photographs, videos, stories, and memorabilia connected to Mert’s career and legacy. Its store offers commemorative merchandise, including T-shirts and a limited-edition, individually numbered print featuring artwork by Mike Gorrono. Visitors can also learn about the Celebration of Life and the Mert Lawwill Vintage Dirt Track Concours, which honors historic motorcycles, craftsmanship, and American flat-track racing culture.
