## Description

The Mesabi Humane Society in Virginia, MN is dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals through various services. As a chapter of the Minnesota State Humane Society, this non-profit organization has been providing care and shelter to animals since 1978. Their current facility, which opened in 1986, serves as a no-kill shelter and employs humane euthanasia only when necessary. The Mesabi Humane Society offers a range of services, including animal control in most of St. Louis County, Minnesota, and responding to hoarding situations where they have rescued up to 76 animals at a time. They provide essential veterinary care, such as deworming, spaying, neutering, and vaccinations, for abandoned and surrendered cats and dogs in their care. Additionally, they are committed to community education, teaching both children and adults about responsible pet ownership. Visiting hours for the shelter are Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Volunteers are always welcome to contribute to the shelter's important work. If you're interested in helping, their address is 2305 Southern Drive, Virginia, MN 55792. For more information, you can contact them at 218-741-7425 or via email at info@mesabihumanesociety.org.
